USCF Race Results
Yakima is blessed with dry weather and many beautiful roads to ride,
if perhaps cursed by being quite far from most of the USCF
Sanctioned Bike Races which are largely held in the Seattle area.
However, a few stalwarts do manage to travel to the races and their
results will be posted here beginning with the 2009 Race Season.
Also in 2009, Chinook Cycling Club will be hosting a time trial race
in Yakima and so local racers will once again have an at home
opportunity to race.

"The
day started with Larry’s weather report. 20% chance of rain. The
drive to Echo was sketchy at best, fog, rain, ice. We get to Echo,
light rain. All classes started at 11:00 with a neutral roll out.
177 riders, it was like a road race. Then it started, 2 miles of
dirt road and then we all funneled into the single track! It looked
like Sea Otter, one huge ribbon of riders winding around single
track. Cool stuff. Larry came to represent. He was off like a
shot making his moves. He ended up finishing second (45-54 sport
class)in spite of going the wrong way for ½ a mile! I was also
doing well until I pulled my own bullheaded move and dropped my
glasses. I must have lost 20 plus places waiting for some yahoo to
throw me my glasses. Oh well. I practiced my passing skills for
the rest of the race. I finished 9th in the 30-44 sport
class. Conditions were great, very little mud and it quit raining
during the race! They already said this race will be back next
year!"
