Here it is again. Maybe this one will be easier to read.
The City of Hermiston, OR and the Eastern Oregon CC are continuing to promote a cyclocross/mountain bike race series, so races will continue through the winter. 3 races have been added to extend the series to Feb. 9th . Entry fee is $5.00 per race or $15.00/ all 4 remaining. Juniors race for free. Women and Junior races will be added depending on interest. The following races remain:
Butte Park, December 29. 2.5km course, with a little bit of everything. More a mountain bike course with a mixture of gravel, sand, grass and rocks. The course features a steep run-up section and a lot of high speed sections. Tire protection is highly recommended. Butte Park is located on West Elm Ave. in Hermiston, turn west at Jack in the Box and look for the soccer field lights. (You canít miss the Butte. Itís the huge rock formation in the middle of town).
Theater Sports Park, January 12. 1.75 km course, traditional cyclocross course with a barrier section and sand pit. Turn at Desert Lanes Bowiling Alley (Harper road) in Hermiston and head West until you see the bike race signs at the park. This is a true, albeit a short, cyclocross course.
Umatilla County Fair Grounds, January 26. 2.0 km sourse will have barriers, 3 foot drop off, asphalt, grass dirt and much more. No elevation gain. Turn West on Orchard Ave, Golden Palace Restaurant and look for the Post Office and turn at the bike race sign.
Butte Park, December 29. Same course as Dec. 29th with additional asphalt and barrier sections.
All directions are from Hwy. 395 in Hermiston.
All races will start as follows:
Beginners 11:00am 25 min. + 1 lap
Sport 11:45am 35 min. + 1 lap
Expert 12:45am 45 min. + 1 lap
Mountain and cyclocross bikes are ok at all races.

I can tell you from experience that these are great races. The organization and course layouts have been supurb. Iíll be there riding my Ďcross bike and I hope to see you there riding yours.
